SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., February 18, 2026 — OPENIDS, an open source project under the Linux Foundation dedicated to modernizing and standardizing insurance data, recently welcomed Perr&Knight as the newest member of its growing ecosystem. As one of the insurance industry’s leading actuarial consulting and technology firms, Perr&Knight offers extensive experience across key areas such as data management, regulatory reporting, actuarial services, and product development.
“We’re excited to join openIDS and contribute to the important work happening through the OPENIDS initiative,” said Darren Totten, Director of Data Solutions, PK1Cloud at Perr&Knight. “Data consistency and clarity are at the heart of effective insurance operations. By collaborating with openIDL, we can help establish standards that make data exchange smoother for carriers, regulators, and service providers alike.”
OPENIDS is designed to improve regulatory reporting, streamline data exchange, and accelerate innovation. openIDS provides a common framework that enables insurers, regulators, and partners to share information efficiently and securely. This collaborative effort brings together carriers, regulators, data partners, and technology leaders to define shared data models that improve insurance reporting, analytics, and compliance — while allowing stakeholders to determine the technology used to transfer the data.
Introduced in November 2025, the OPENIDS Homeowners Standard v.1.0 establishes a unified, interoperable framework to reduce reporting friction, improve regulatory compliance, and accelerate innovation across the insurance ecosystem. The OPENIDS Homeowners Standard v.1.0 is now available for industry adoption – view details at www.OPENIDS.org.
“With the release of the OPENIDS Homeowners Standard v1.0, we are setting a foundation for a more interoperable insurance data ecosystem—one that reduces reporting friction, improves regulatory outcomes, and accelerates innovation,” said Totten.
Perr&Knight joins AAIS, Cloverleaf Analytics and reThought Flood as OPENIDS members collaborating together to standardize insurance data.
“Perr&Knight’s experience supporting more efficient data exchange between carriers and regulators will be instrumental as we extend OPENIDS standards to additional industry use cases,” said General Manager of Decentralized Technologies at the Linux Foundation. “Their engagement in the project will help drive greater collaboration across the ecosystem while accelerating industry-wide adoption and implementation.”
About OPENIDS
OPENIDS (Open Insurance Data Standards) is a community-driven Linux Foundation project bringing insurers, regulators, technology providers, and industry organizations together to develop open insurance data standards. Through open governance and collaboration, OPENIDS helps the industry define and publish common data standards that improve interoperability and reduce complexity. These standards create a shared data language for the insurance industry, supporting more consistent regulatory reporting, greater transparency, and a stronger foundation for innovation. By uniting the industry around open, community-driven principles, OPENIDS is building a sustainable set of standards that can evolve with the needs of the broader insurance ecosystem.
